Open Para-Swimming Championships
27th April 2012The 2012 Guayaquil Open Para- Swimming is a Long Course competition for swimmers with an Intellectual disability from all nations.
It is sanctioned by IPC and will be run in accordance with IPC Swimming Rules and Regulations.
To be eligible swimmers must appear on the Inas Classification Master List no later than the final entry and hold an active IPC Swimming license for the 2012 Season.
The event will offer sports-specific classification.
Sport Director – Football
25th April 2012Inas currently has a vacancy for a Sport Director – Football.
Sport Directors work under the direction of the Sport Technical Officer and manage all aspects of the Inas sports programme. They will be experts within their sport and able to lead and advise the organisation on rules/regulations, maintain rankings/records, oversee competition planning and manage protests/appeals.
Sport Directors are responsible for fostering strong links with Inas regional sports directors and the relevant International Federation to promote the development of the sport.
Sport Directors will be required to attend Technical Committee meetings (usually 3 per year) and must be available for all competitions.
You will:
- Be experienced within the sport, with a good knowledge of rules, competition and governance structures
Sport can change public perceptions of people with intellectual disabilities
24th April 2012The London 2012 Paralympics have the potential to change public attitudes towards people with intellectual disabilities, according to research presented in a symposium at the British Psychology Society Annual Conference held in London last week.
Dr Bob Price, Inas President
18th April 2012
Dr Bob Price (Inas President) has decided to retire from his role as the Chief Executive of Linkage Community Trust in the UK, at the end of April 2012. Dr Price had earlier announced his intention to retire at the end of the year, but has brought forward his retirement due to ill health.
Czech Open Swimming Championships/Inas European Swimming Championships
3rd April 2012The Czech Open Swimming Championships are offering Inas member nations the opportunity to compete and access sports classification. Details can be found here.
