Para Swimmer, Drummer, Spirit of the Team, Captain Canada
Canadian National Swimmer..yes.Canadian National Treasure…yes. That’s the way we see it. Heart and spirit of gold, he’s a gem. Adam has become well know for his philosophy, “try your best and have fun, and you will never be disappointed”.
Adam has been swimming since he was 2, competitively for 8 years. He started with Special Olympics and also his community swim club in Powell River, British Columbia. In 2006 he attended school in Nanaimo, BC and began his para swimming career. He has had incredible success at the Canadian national level competing at 2 Canada Games. He has competed at 4 Can Am Para Swim Championships; Montreal, Vancouver, Victoria and Edmonton. Now, at 22 years old, he’s taken his swimming internationally with his first international meet, the IPC World Swimming Championships, Eindhoven Netherlands 2010. There he achieved 2 personal best times placing fourth in the world in his 100 backstroke. Adam hopes to represent Canada at the Paralympic Games in London 2012.
With all his time in the pool his drumming career has taken a back seat. Adam’s other interests include travel, fishing, camping and hunting. He loves movies, nature, reading and his family.
