An intellectually impaired runner

Athletics is the largest sport in the International Federation for Intellectual Impairment Sport (INAS) programme and offers a full track and field programme together with an indoor event, cross country and half marathon.

At the Paralympic Games, athletes with an intellectual impairment can compete in the T20 classification in track and field.

Athletes interested in competing at a high level first need to contact their National Federation.
